Group Managing Director, CD Communications Group SB

Shamsimar Yusof is the Group Managing Director of CD Communications Group Sdn Bhd, one of the largest Bumiputera communication groups in the country. A fully-integrated communications group, CD has grown and expanded to 6 subsidiary companies handling both above-the-line and below-the-line advertising works, event management and interactive media. A graduate from Australia, Shamsimar Yusof has single-handedly built CD Communications Group from humble beginnings in 1988 with a staff strength of 3 to what it is today with some 120 highly professional staff, housed in their very own building occupying 9 floors of office space in Damansara Perdana.

CD Group has achieved and accomplished much including a string of awards for producing some of the best creative works over the years namely, the Kancil Awards, Malaysia Video Awards, the National Annual Corporate Report Awards as well as Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka Citra Awards.

In 2005, she was awarded the Accredited PR Practitioner (APR) in recognition of outstanding and distinguished service towards the PR profession in Malaysia and in 2007, she was conferred to the IPRM Fellowship by the Royal Patron Duli Yang Amat Mulia Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah Ibni Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah.

In recognition of her achievements, Shamsimar was awarded the Women Entrepreneur Award of the 4th Decade (in conjunction with the 50th Merdeka Celebrations) by the Y.A.B. Dato’ Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi in 2007.

Shamsimar was appointed as Board Member of SME Corporation Malaysia (formerly known as Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC)) in 2007. In 2008, the Board appointed her to chair the panel for Women SMEs. She also sits on the Board of Yayasan NUR, a Foundation set-up to assist the less fortunate.

Her involvement in Associations and NGOs includes being the President of National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Malaysia (NAWEM), Council Member of the National Advisory Council of Women, Panel of Advisor for Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) and life member of Association for Bumiputera Women in Business and Profession (PENIAGAWATI).

Sarojini Ruth Rajahser is the Managing Director of Data-Tech Sdn Bhd, a company providing outsourcing services for transferring data into input media such as paper document, microfilm and microfiche. A true entrepreneur at heart, Sarojini’s success story began with a humble start as a data entry operator. She quickly moved up the ranks to supervisor and her efforts paid-off when she bought over the company where she start her career.
