Tabung Amal NAWEM (TAN)
NAWEM was established with the purpose of harnessing the capabilities and resources of women entrepreneurs for the encouragement and enhancement of women's role in business.
It is only possible to succeed when there is a united commitment to contribute by providing leadership and financial resources that will influence and inspire the growth and development of women enrepreneurship.
It was the desire to form a strong foundation and platform for women entrepreneurs to exploit business opportunities that NAWEM was formed in 1993. Since then, it has grown to incorporate more than 170 women and their businesses, collectively known as the NAWEM Business Network.
NAWEM holds regular meetings with its members, and conducts training courses, roadshows, conferences and other events that help bring business women together, to share a common pool of knowledge.
Aims and Objectives
TAN was set up in 1998 with the aim of fulfilling NAWEM’s social obligations by assisting the needy and less fortunate women in our society through the granting of funds and seed money to start new business.
The principal objective of TAN is to enable economically challenged women to be financially independent through entrepreneurial endeavours.
Information
TAN was established with initial donations and pledges amounting RM20,000 from NAWEM members. The sum has now totalled RM224,000.00 with generous donations received since the establishment of TAN.
It is the plan of the Board of Trustees to continue its fund-raising efforts so as to put TAN on a firm financial footing prior to disbursement of funds. Plans are also in place to obtain Tax Exemption status for the trust fund.
The Trustees wish to thank all donors for their generous support.

TAN has provided women entrepreneurs, grants to purchase fixed assets to enable them to start new businesses or expand their existing businesses. Our grants range from RM1000.00 to RM20,000.
